Laura Linney has been hailed as one of America's most acclaimed actors. She is known for her strong character that are equally fragile. Her father was a celebrated playwright. However, she was raised as a single child with a single mother and nurse. In the summer and with her father Linney discovered a love for the theatre. Linney eventually pursued acting initially through Brown University then at Juilliard School. In just two short months after graduating, she launched her Broadway-based career. Following that, she made her debut in TV and film. Since then, she has appeared appearing in a variety of films, TV shows and stage performances. There have been numerous awards in her long career. They include four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. Despite her numerous nominations, she has a passion for the theatre, and has appeared on stage and screen.
