Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) is an American actor, singer as well as a dancer. Her early roles on Broadway included in Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors in the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning work with several upcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford will be seen opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. This show will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which produced Hamilton. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the first impeachment proceeding in America during the Over an Century. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the hit CBS comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie in You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Additional Broadway roles for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots.
