Eve was born in London England the daughter of actors Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan. Her family was split between LA, CA as well as the United Kingdom. She attended Bedales School before taking her A Levels at Westminster School London. In the following year, she attended the Beverly Hills Playhouse before studying English at St Catherine's College Oxford. At Oxford she appeared in student productions like An Ideal Husband Animal Crackers (which was a tour to Edinburgh for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival) Scenes from an Execution and The Colour of Justice. The actress was born into a mixed-race family, with an Indo British father Anthony Mitra of British descent and an Indian mother Nora Downey. English actress Guyan Mitra is a mother to an older sister and a younger one. Jason Mitra was her father. The younger brother is a travel journalist who has been published her work in Lonely Planet, The Sunday Times as well as other magazines.
